Abstract (EN)

This study aims to describe the step-by-step procedure of applying dynamic oriented, short-brief-emergency psychological counseling (BEP) towards solving traumatic problems of high school students. The findings of the study and the recommendations at the end are thought to contribute mainly to the people working in this field, programs aiming to graduate psychological counsellors, teenagers with traumatic problems and their families. In this study, short-brief-emergency psychological counseling was presented through case study method to solve the traumatic problems of two high school students. The process was initiated by considering the pre-test (SLC-90-R, HKE, Beier Sentence Completion Test) results of the volunteers. Six sessions were completed with the client who sought psychological help due to his parents' divorce and nine sessions were completed with the client who lost his father. Each session was video recorded and transcriptions were used in the qualitative part of the study. Pre-test and post-test results of the clients were presented in the quantitative part of the study. The findings revealed that short-brief-emergency psychological counseling is viable with the high school students experiencing traumatic problems. The change that the clients showed during and after the BEP sessions was discussed in accordance with the assumptions of short-brief-emergency psychological counseling and the findings of this study.
