Critical Thinking Education in High SchoolAbdulkerim KARADEN ZSUMMARYOur academical Research Main targets are; to find out the structure of Critical ThoughEducation in Turkey, to discover teachers role in the Critical Thought Education, especiallyamong the students and to set up new proposals on this matter at the High Schools.Firstly, the explanation of Critical Thinking was made and Critical Reading andListening which can be considered as the sub-step of Critical Thinking, Critical Thinking andother thinking systems compared and new suggestions on how critical thinking educationmust be in High Schools. Besides the role of Critical Thinking in students education has beentried to define.The survey which is the main part of research was discussed in 2005-2006 educationalyear in Kırşehir at Kırşehir High School, Yusuf Sıddık Demir Anatolian High School andHacı Fatma Erdemir Anatolian High School by 100 teachers.Getting the skills of critical thinking to students, teachers are the main factor in theschools. For training good persons who can be able to think critically, we need a goodeducational system that supports students critical thinking and surely the teachers should havesufficient information and skill on the education of critical thinking. This in our research wefirstly aimed to find out the ideas and observations both the teachers and the students oncritical thinking and we studied if they were sufficient enough on this matter.
