A research on the effect of market orientation, learning orientation and innovativeness on firm performance in the logistics sector

Özet (EN)

As it is emphasized in marketing, management, and strategic management literature, ?market orientation?, ?learning orientation?, and ?innovativeness? are regarded together as having a significant impact on a firms? performance. The objective of this study is to find out the interrelationships of these variables and their impacts on performance in the logistics sector.The study was designed for logistics sector using the triangulation approach and both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together (mixed method). In the theoretical section literature review on individual effects of market orientation, learning orientation, and innovativeness on performance were examined. Later data collected from the logistics sector managers by interviews were analyzed, by using a content analyse technique and data collected through questionnaires were analyzed by using structural equation modelling, to test the hypotheses of the study.After a comparing the theory and the research results, the causal relationships among the variables were examined. The research findings revealed that the firms in the logistics sector in Turkey are market oriented, learning oriented, and innovative and that all these variables are effective on performance enhancement.
