Abstract (EN)
Export and exporters are of great importance economically for developing countries. It is known that many efforts are given to promote export and to increase its share in economic development. The export process, which covers a wide supply chain, includes economic activities in which businesses face quite different problems related to both internal and external environment. The objective of this thesis is that to reveal the interactions between logistics capabilities, buyer-seller relations, technological progress, network relations and supply chain performance of exporter companies which play a great role in the development of Turkey. After the literature review made for the purpose of the study, exporting enterprises were examined in different scopes and with different scientific approaches. First of all, an exploratory research has been conducted with a case study of a single business and detailed information about the supply chain performance and interactions are gained. Later on, based on interviews made with seven business executives, a content analysis covering the relevant processes of these businesses was made. In the light of the exploratory scientific information obtained from these parts of the research, quantitative data were collected by applying the survey method to 226 exporter compaines. Collected data were analyzed in the model tested by hierarchical regression method and this model was presented as a suggestion. Research results in the natural course of events showed that supply chain performance was mostly affected from logistics capabilities and buyer-seller relations. These findings are supported by the empirical findings. It has been determined that logistics capabilities affect buyer-seller relations, tecnhological progress and network relations. It has also been observed that buyer-seller relations and level of techonological advance have an effect on supply chain performance. Finally, it was found that logistics capabilities have a significant impact on supply chain performance with the mediating role of buyer-seller relations and technological advance.
