A qualitative research on the opinions of logistic managers about industry 4.0's impacts on business level: The case of bursa

Technological and economic improvements as a consequence of globalization, emergence new global markets, globalization of competition and Fourth Industry Revolution which is also known as Industry 4.0 has forced also logistic companies as it has affected all other businesses more efficiently and without any mistake. Because of these necessities, logistic sector has changed in accordance with Industry 4.0 in terms of new business models, customer expectation, new market search and technological innovations for structuring and carrying the logistics and supply chain systems to digital platform since it offers wide and very dynamic way of doing business. In this research, it has been focused on the logistic managers' knowledge level and their opinions about readiness and preperations for Industry 4.0, which will affect many sector in terms of profitability, cost, labor ve investment. The research consist of literature and case study, which is focused of the logistic companies based in city of Bursa. Research consist of three chapters. Basic concepts of Industry 4.0 like definition, historical development process and its main components has been explained at the first chapter. At the second chapter, definition of logistics, Industry 4.0 and Industry 4.0's effects of logistics businesses in the concept of logistics and Industry 4.0 relation. In addition, case study research has been conducted at the third chapter. Semi-constructed interviews were conducted face to face with three logistics managers and all interviews were analyzed by using content analysis technique with Maxqda programme and reached to "The advantages Industry 4.0 for Business", "Challenges in Transition to Industry 4.0" and "Readiness Level of Businesses for Industry 4.0" models. All the details about results is presented and examined in details at the chapter three.
