Abstract (EN)
Aim;The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effects of plasebo, 400 mg intravenous ibuprofen ,400 mg intravenous ibuprofen plus 75 mg single oral dose of pregabalin combinations and 400 mg intravenous ibuprofen plus150 mg single oral dose of pregabalin combinations on the postoperative pain after surgical mandibular third molar etractions under local anesthesia Material and method; Eighty patients were selected and divided four preoperative treatment groups. First group received only placebo, second group ibuprofen 400 mg via intravenous route with 30 minute infusion, third group received combinations of 400 mg IV ibuprofen via intravenous route with 30 minute infusion and single oral dose of pregabalin 75 mg and the fourth group receive combinations of 400 mg IV ibuprofen via intravenous route with 30 minute infusion and single oral dose of pregabalin 150 mg before the surgical extaction of one impacted third molar tooth.Pain skors were recorded with VAS scale in different times during postoperative first 6 days. Also supplemental analgesic consuption, first request for analgesia after surgery and complications were recorded. The amount of trismus and edema were assessed during control visit in the postoperative second and seventh day. Results ; During postoperative first 12 hours ,the VAS skors in intravenous ibuprofen and pregabalin 150 mg combination grup were significantly lower than the other groups. In pregabalin 75 combination groups time to first analgesic requirement use were significantly later than the patients in intravenous ibuprofen group and in pregabalin 150 combination grup time to first analgesic reques was significantly later than ıntravenous ibuprofen and placebo group. There was no significant differance in the postoperative supplemental analgesic consamption. There was no significant differance between placebo and intravenous ibuprofen in ratio of trismus and edema in the second and seventh day.During postoperative first 6 days, some of the VAS skors in intravenous ibuprofen and pregabalin 150 mg combination grup were significantly lower in the third day(47 hours) compare to placebo group and fifth (99hours) and sixth day (123 hours) compare to placebo and intravenous ibuprofen and 75 mg prebalin combination group. This effect determineted as preventive effect. Conclusion; The postoperative pain skors in the intravenosu ibuprofen and pregabalin 150 mg combination group was significantly lower in the postoperative period. Key words;third molar surgery ,pregabalin, intravenous ibuprofen ,pain
