Abstract (EN)

The term minority came out in the 16th century as a concept based on religious discrimination. The scope of this concept was later extended to language and ethnicity. In the first part of the study, the concept of minority is studied and classified. In the second part, the general history of minority rights and the development of minority rights over time are studied. In the third part, the views of the sides before Treaty of Lausanne, which is considered as the foundation certificate of Turkish Republic and shows the Independence War is over, arguments, the statues made clear, the progression after the treaty, the rights given to minorities according to Treaty of Lausanne, the ones, who are considered as minorities and aren't, are studied. In the fourth part, information about Ezidi religion and the roots of this religion is given, and Ezidis custom, folk and tradition, geography they live in, language and population are studied. In the fifth part, information about the religion of Assyrian is given and their folk, custom and tradition are studied. The study is completed with the final part, in which the results about the subject and comparison between Assyrian and Ezidi societies are placed. In addition to the treatise script, the part of Treaty of Lausanne about the minorities is given. Key Words: Minority, Lousanne, Ezidi, Syrian
