Abstract (EN)
In this study, a new system, which will serve as an accelerator pump was designed for LPGdriven car engines. The developed system consists of electronic control unit and accessories andpotentiometer. The function of potentiometer is to sense the forward movement of the throttle valveangularly. The electronic control unit converts angular values to electrical signal as a function of time.Electronic circuit controls an electronic valve, which lets the gas enter and is attached to the throttlevalve beneath the carburetor. A certain amount of gas is sent to the engine quickly because there isalways pressured gas in the system and enough vacuum under throttle valveProgrammed control unit opens and closes electronic valve as throttle valve makes a movement. Thisprovides necessary fuel to the engine. In this study, by providing additional amount of fuel to thesystem via the movement of the gas throttle valve, time needed to attain maximum rpm and powerwas significantly shorted .The developed system will improve engine performance of LPG drivenengines in cars having carburetor system.
