Abstract (EN)

The increase in the world population is directly proportional to the increase in housing needs of people. In our country, the variety of housing types arising from these housing needs varies according to geographical regions. The legislator has made central heating systems mandatory in buildings of certain sizes to minimize the potential environmental problems caused by urbanization, to use resources efficiently, to reduce external dependency, and to protect consumers. As people in densely populated cities and districts have started to live in residential complexes instead of detached houses, this has brought along some obligations required by collective living, one of which is the central heating system. These obligations have led many companies to develop heat meters and billing software programs, addressing issues such as how to measure the energy used in central heating systems and how to fairly distribute it among users. In this thesis, the aim is to develop a new smart meter reading and billing program by using LabVIEW, a graphical programming language widely used by millions of engineers and scientists for easy data collection and processing, and the M-BUS protocol developed for communication between measurement devices. Many companies are engaged in commercial activities in these areas, developing their own billing programs using different methods and programming languages. The reason for this thesis is to take advantage of LabVIEW's visual language and its ability to collect data, support the program with graphics, facilitate the detection of faults, and take advantage of its easy programming software to present a lower-cost and original interface, thus providing a new program to the industry that is open to development.
