M?rz?z?de Mehmed S?lim Efendi and His Work Sal?met al-ins?n f? muh?fazat al-lis?nThis study, M?rz?z?de Mehmed S?lim Efendi son of Shaykhulislam M?rz? Mustafa Efendi, distinguished an Ottoman Arabic language scholar and poet of XVIIIth senctury and editional critic his work called Sal?met al-ins?n f? muh?faz?t al-lis?n, is consist of introduction and three chapters.In the introduction, we have examined the short history of the fıkhu?l-luga up to the XVIIIth senctury that M?rz?z?de Mehmed S?lim Efendi (d. 1155/1743) live in and acquainted the similar books of fikhul?l-luga because Sal?met al-ins?n f? muh?fazat al-lis?n had been in general a collection of texts of fikhu?l-luga.In the first chapter, we have given information about life of Mirz?z?de Mehmed S?lim Efendi. In addition we have examined other works of scholar known and discovered for the first time.In the second chapter, we have given information about the Sal?met al-ins?n f? muh?fazat al-lis?n that constitutes our topic of study and made its general description, in respect of content, method and sources.In the third chapter, we have presendet the full text of Sal?met al-ins?n f? muh?fazat al-lis?n critized.Key Words: Fıkh al-lugah, Arabic language of Ottoman period, M?rz?z?de Mehmed S?lim, Sal?met al-ins?n
