Abstract (EN)

Aim: In our study, we compared the effects of Machintosh laryngoscope, McGrath videoingoscope and C-Mac videoryngoscopes on IOP, ONSD, ICP and hemodynamic parameters. We aimed to find the laryngoscope that least affects IOP and ICP. Material and method: A total of 120 patients aged 18-65 years were included in the study. The patients were divided into three groups according to the type of laryngoscope used. After the input data (T0) is saved; propofol 2 mg/kg, fentanyl 1 mcg/kg, 0.6 mg/kg rocuronium were administered in anesthesia induction. SAP, DAP, MAP, HR, SpO2 values were measured immediately before laryngoscopy (T1), immediately after intubation (T2), at the 5th minute after intubation (T3), and at the 10th minute after intubation (T4). EtCO2 values were noted at T2, T3, and T4 times. Furthermore, IOP and ONSD were measured at the five specified times. Results: There were 40 patients in each group, and there was no significant difference in demographic data between the groups. In terms of IOPs, it was observed that the McGrath videolaryngoscope for both the right anf left eyes causes less pressure rise in T2. In both the right and left eyes, the ONSD values in the Machintosh laryngoscope group were statistically higher at T2, T3, and T4 times than in the McGrath and C-Mac videolaryngoscope groups (p<0.05). Considering the hemodynamic parameters, no significant difference was observed between the groups regarding HR, SpO2, EtCO2, SAB, DAB, and MAP (p>0.05). Conclusion: The usage of the McGrath videolaryngoscope may be more beneficial in patients in whom IOP and ICP elevation will be dangerous. Furthermore, intubation with the McGrath videolaryngoscope results in more favorable changes in hemodynamic parameters.
