Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the stories of Sait Faik Abasıyanık from the perspective of subaltern and to examine the subject of his stories, their characters, the socio-economic status of the period, Sait Faik's orientation in the choice of general characters. The term subaltern refers to any person or group who is humiliated and despised by society in terms of race, class, caste, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Besides, it defines the groups which are not literate, who are not literate and who are not represented in the society and have low level of education. These groups are influenced by the pressures of the ruling class, directly or indirectly, and affected. From this point of view, it is seen that the characters in these stories of Sait Faik consisted of the characters who were excluded, crushed from the society and who could not be heard. Sait Faik, one of the most important storytellers of his time, distinguishes him from other writers from the marginalized, poor, victimized, oppressed sub-class people involved in his stories. The stories he wrote with an observer-realistic way, with his love of human being, are important in terms of the conditions of the period, the socio-economic situation, and a picture of the sociology of society. As a result, the misunderstandings between the rich and the poor, the peasant-urban, the oppressed, the sound of which is alienated from society, is seen in Sait Faik's stories.
