Abstract (EN)

Increased productivity demands in the machining industry, bring fast chip removal techniques in pocket milling using different tool path strategies. In this thesis study, an experimental investigation was carried out on the effect of different tool path strategies on wear-affecting forces and tool wear during the machining of AZ91 magnesium alloy. Advantages of the insert cooling process over the dry process have been determined during the process. Pressurized air and cutting fluid are applied as cooling type. According to the temperature values obtained through the cutting tool during the process, the advantages of using cutting fluid compared to air cooling are seen. The temperature values of the tool were also taken during the cutting operations with different tool paths. If the cutting tool-piece contact takes a long time, the temperature increases and the wear values increase accordingly. More precise surface roughness has been achieved in operations with less worn cutting tools.
