Abstract (EN)

Today, engineering studies are based on the principle of low cost, high performance. At this point, the search for materials that can be an alternative to traditional materials has increased. Polymer materials, especially in the last 20 years, have made significant progress with the contributions of materials and chemical sciences and have taken their place in the sector as an alternative. However, in some applications, their mechanical and thermal properties need to be improved. One of the processes that can be done at this stage is the addition of inorganic particle additives to the polymer material. Polyamide (PA) is a polymer widely used in the automotive industry and many industrial applications, especially as a coating material, thanks to its advantages. In this study, it is aimed to develop a thermally and mechanically superior material by adding MgCO3 particle additive to PA-12 in powder form. Extrusion method was preferred for homogeneous production. Tensile and flexure test specimens were produced by injection molding method in accordance with ASTM standards. The morphological properties of the composites were determined by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Mechanical properties were determined by three-point bending test and tensile test; thermal behavior was investigated by Thermogravimetry (TG), Differential Thermogravimetry (DTG), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) analysis.
