Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT TEACHING MAHTUMKULU'S THOUGHTS TO YOUNG PEOPLE (BASED ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) Açıkgöz, Hasan Master Thesis Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures Thesis Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr., Soner SAĞLAM October 2025, XI+131 Pages This master's thesis aims to convey the advice given by the 18th-century Turkmen poet Mahtumkulu in his poems on the "ideal human and ideal Turkmen type" to today's younger generation (ages 6-14) through artificial intelligence applications. UNESCO's declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Mahtumkulu Firâkî" emphasizes the importance of the poet's universal wisdom. This study investigates how the sub-themes/advice surrounding the main themes of the ideal Turkmen in individual and social life in a moral context and the ideal human being in a religious-mystical context in Mahtumkulu's poems can be conveyed to the modern age and young people through artificial intelligence technologies. Within the scope of the research, an AI-supported question-and-answer application has been developed to attract the interest of young people. This application was designed with 300 questions in reference to the 300th anniversary of Mahtumkulu's birth, but due to the limitations of the thesis, it was examined with a sample of 100 questions. Through these questions, Mahtumkulu's advice was transformed into a format that young people could easily understand and interact with. The findings show that AI-supported learning materials have significant potential for effectively teaching cultural and moral values to young people. This study argues that AI technologies offer an innovative method for preserving and transmitting cultural heritage. Keywords: Mahtumkulu, artificial intelligence, Akıldar-300, Turkmen robot.
