Abstract (EN)
Carpet has been defined as a traditional and cultural asset that has been included in our vital activities from primitive weaving to the present day. When it was produced, it changed structurally over time with psychological, religious belief and new applications. Art movements, which were effective in the 20th century, caused changes in the color, form and form phase in the field of design. Fashion and art phenomena are emphasized with the emergence of currents in carpet design. Compositions have moved away from their original structure and the form and form characteristics specified in the currents have come to the fore. With the industrial revolution, the invention of jacquard machines started the era of machine carpeting and allowed carpet design to be created in pixel-based programs. Visually, it has helped to bring different styles to the forefront with the method of creating images under the influence of art movements. This has led to the emergence of innovative designs. Production problems caused by the lack of raw materials with the Second World War led to the production of synthetic fibers after the war. Therefore, carpet design has started to lose its original and cultural structure due to the shortage of raw materials. Today, many design methods and materials for carpet design are used. Different color palettes, surface effects, textures are edited with Photoshop and similar-based programs and created by transferring them to pixel-based programs. The inadequacy of scientific research, the methods applied with commercial concerns, within the scope of design, the emphasis on aesthetic visuality remained in the background and prevented development in this field. In this study, basic, physical and aesthetic methods for design methods developed in machine carpeting were investigated. New designs have been developed with Photoshop and Texcelle programs within the framework of art-textile-technology, taking into account the design methods, design principles and elements applied. Three sample collections were created under the influence of Surrealism, inspired by paintings by Surrealist Painters within the framework of art movements by applying original, traditional and modern new design methods in the field of design. Each of the collections is based on the subconscious coding of the Surrealism movement and the stages of consciousness in the age of humanity. Recently, 8 different carpet samples were woven based on one of the collections created with viscose yarn as the raw material suitable for innovative designs.
