Religious architectural work built in Malatya during the Turkish-Islamic period

Due to its special location, Malatya has hosted many civilizations throughout history. Islamıc armies used Malatya as a general headquarters fort he Anatolian conquests in the 7th century. They repaired the walls and built mosques and barracks. The Seljuks, who came with Turkısh raids from the 11th century, created important religious architecture and foundation works in Malatya. Malatya and especially Battalgazi district, which has an important place in the Turkification and Islamization of Anatolia, stand out with their religious architectural structures. Malatya's position in Turkish-Islamic architecture and the qualities of existing architectural works encouraged us to research on this subject. In our thesis on "Religious Architectural Buildings of the Turkish-Islamic Period in Malatya", 39 mosques and masjids, 7 mausoleums, 1 prayer place,1 madrasah and 1 martyrdom registered to the Regional Directorate of Foundations in Malatya center and its districts were examined. A comprehensive study is aimed by evaluating the plan schemes, building materials, construction techniques, inscription texts and decorations of these works.
