Textile industry in Malatya

Textie industry consists of arganizations which prepare threads in various qualityand types to weauing in textile ındustry, the rawmaterial which is suitable for makinkthread is called fibers. Types of fibers which are being used in textile industry areobtained from various sources.Textile industry is the most important industry sector in Malatya with thenumber of organizations, high amployment capacity and at the same time with it?svalue-added capacity. Textile industry sector consisting of total 52 industryorganizations has axisted as on important industry branch in Malatya and itssurrondings, since historical times.The reason why today textile induetry has developed more than other industrysectors in Malatya is its having a long history as a traditional branch at work and itsdevelopment in tecnological terms with time.İn this study, it has been tried to show today?s distributive and structural featuresof textile industry organizations by studying factors such as rawmaterial,transportation, employment, market, energy, capital etc. Which have an effect ondevelopment of textile industry. Also current problems of textile industry has beenresearced and solutions to problems have been suggested.Key words: Malatya, Textile industry, Location of Industry
