Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the healthcare officiers' low back pain, quality of life and physical activity levels and to determine whether there is a relationship between the variables. Material and Method: 1625 healthcare professionals whose consent was approved by themself from the healthcare employees of Malatya Training and Research Hospital participated in our study. As data collection tools, the questionnaire form regarding the socio-demographic characteristics of healthcare workers, Oswetry Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire (OBPAQ) to evaluate the low back pain of the participants, SF-36 quality of life scale for the evaluation of the quality of life, International Physical Activity Questionnaire(IPAQ) that is the short form is to determine the physical activity levels of individuals, was used. Data evaluation and analysis has been made by SPSS 22 packed program p= 0.05 was chosen as the level of error. Results: Of the health care professionals, %62.8 were female and , %37.2 were male. %87.0 of the participants are between the age of 30-50 and %3.6 are over the age of 50. Low back pain does not pose an important problem in the life of the patient in %50.0 of the participants, slightly restricts daily life in %31.2, advanced restriction in %13.2, restricted in %4.2 and addicted to bed %1.4 (or symptoms are exaggerated). %20 of the participants do not do any sports, occasionally makes %54.1 and %25.7 does regular sports. The physical activity level of men was higher than that of women. Physical activity levels of higher education employees are higher than those of secondary education. Women's back pain severity was higher than male healthcare professionals. Conclusion: As a result, the level of low back pain of the shift working group was higher than that of the non-shift working group. It was determined that the level of education and gender were related to the severity of low back pain. As the level of physical activity increases, low back pain decreases and quality of life improved. Key Words: Low back pain, physical activity, quality of life.
