Abstract (EN)
In this study, the Flora of Malatya has been studied. 3816 plant specimens were collected from the research area between 2012-2015 and at the end of this it was determined that 20.75 species, belonging to 107 families, 586 genera were found. 437 (% 21,1) of the total species are endemic in Malatya province. The phytogeografic regions of only 1.135 species out of the collected material have been determined; Irano-Turanian 892 (% 42,81), Mediterranean 163 (% 7,82), Euro-Siberian 80 (% 3,84). The rest 940 species (% 45,54) of the total are either pluriregional or phytogeoraphically unknown. 9 species belong to Pteridophyta whereas 2.066 species belong to Spermatophyta. Gymnospermae has 19 species and Angiospermae have 2.047 species in the area. Dicotyledones and Monocotyledones have 1.745 and 302 species respectively in the Angiosperms. The largest families according to their species in the area as follows; Asteraceae 250 (%12,25), Fabaceae 215 (% 10,38), Brassicaceae 150 (% 7,45), Lamiaceae 125 (% 6), Poaceae 124 (% 5,96). The largest genera according to their species in the area as follows; Astragalus 74 (%3,55), Alyssum 30 (% 1,44), Allium 28 (%1,34), Verbascum 27 (%1,30), Silene 26 (1,24) and Veronica 26 (%1,24). We was described three new species, Ornithogalum malatyanum, Sisiymbrium malatyanum and Campanula malatyaensis, by this study.
