Investigation of the relationship and affecting factors of job satisfaction, exhaustion and anxiety levels of 112 emergency HEALTH services personnel in Malatya province

Aim: With the uninterrupted 7/24 service of emergency health services, the increase in work-related problems, the widespreading violence against employees, and the increase in the intensity of the work environment, more importance has begun to be given to this issue. In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship and affecting factors of job satisfaction, exhaustion and anxiety levels of the personnel working in 112 Emergency Health Services. Material and method: The nature of this cross-sectional study consists of 410 health personnel working in 112 Emergency Health Centers in Malatya. No sample calculation was made. The whole nature has been tried to be reached; the study was completed with 400 people. In the questionnaire form used in the study, sociodemographic characteristics, occupational and work life characteristics, liking of profession and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale, Maslach Exhaustion Scale and Trait Anxiety are included. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis Variance analysis were used for statistical analysis. Results: It was determined that 51% of the participants were male, 45.5% were between the ages of 20-29, 70.3% were married, 77.8% worked in ambulance services, 84.8% worked in the seizure system, and 49.3% worked between 6-10 years. 68.3% of the participants stated that they found the occupational income low and 58.5% wanted to change the profession. Minnesota sub-dimensions of the research group; overall satisfaction score is 3.05, internal satisfaction score is 3.41, external satisfaction score is 2.62; Maslach sub-dimensions; personal achievement score is 21, emotional exhaustion score is 21 and desensitization score is 7.50;the trait anxiety score was found to be 41. Conclusion: Employees in emergency medical services have high levels of job satisfaction and burnout; Anxiety scores are moderate. As the level of job satisfaction of employees increases, exhaustion and anxiety levels decrease. In addition, it was determined that the exhaustion levels of the employees whose anxiety levels are increasing also increased. For this reason, it is necessary to make regular and systematic measurements for job satisfaction and exhaustion of the personnel working in emergency health services.
