Abstract (EN)

In the world, demand of energy increases but the quantity of energy sources decreases. Using energy sources in a productive manner has a great importance. Especially in industrial sector should use these sources. These provides a huge advantage in the rivalry of international trade. Nowadays, Turkey attains seventy percent of total energy by importing. Turkey's industrial structure shows a particularly high energy-consuming industries. Iron and steel, other metals, stone, soil, cement industry, paper industry, food industry etc.. are located between the energy-intensive industries. In general, high-efficiency motor, the use of industrial facilities, compressed air systems to prevent leaks, combustion air is heated, contaminated fluid heat recovery, hot and cold surfaces, insulation, reducing idle time, many facilities such as electrical power factor correction and energy saving measures can be achieved. Savings can be achieved by using energy-efficient manufacturing processes. If these preventions do not apply, energy consumption will increase every year. In this thesis, one of the branches of the industrial sector energy efficiency work in the sugar sector in the food industry are discussed in terms of energy efficiency. Model factory is a public sugar agency. Sugar processing capacity is 430 tons /day. Factory uses naturel gas, fuel-oil as an energy source. There are four steam boiler operations. Four of these are liquid naturel gas and fuel boilers (fuel oil).Other energy source is electricity at factory. Thesis is grouped under two main headings which are about the energy efficiency of thermal energy and electrical systems. First, the current situation have been identified. Cost analysis made and focused on what improvements were made. The scope of this study which industrial enterprise engaged in the production of sugar, electric motors used in various stages of production and steam boilers are investigated. Especially with a high energy saving potential, boiler, investigations were carried out in detail on units such as electric motors. Surfaces temperatures of diffrent places were measured to determine the heat losses that occur. After that, boilers were insulated and measurement of surface temperatures were repeated. Otherwise, measurements were made to determine the performance of electric motors. Directly to the plant to effect measurements and other data specific to these units were determined using the amount of savings.
