Cultural, political and social developments reflected in the Köyün Sesi newspaper in the example of Malazgirt local press

This study deals with the newspaper Köyün Sesi, which started to be published in Malazgirt in 1964. As an example of the Malazgirt local press, how the newspaper dealt with the political and social issues of the period in which it was published was examined. The aim of this study is to deal with the reflections of the cultural, political, and social issues of the period in the local press of Malazgirt, in particular with the Köyün Sesi newspaper. In addition, since the local press also creates the memory of the region where it is published, the data in the press is important in this sense. The first local press activities in Manzikert started with the newspaper Köyün Sesi which was published in 1964. In this study, all the issues of the Köyün Sesi magazine were examined and the news was classified as cultural, political, and social. The extent to which the political news in the newspaper reflected the political atmosphere of the period was discussed and the local reflections on the issues on the national agenda were discussed. It is thought that the newspaper in question contains important data in terms of local history, not only because of the news it covers, but also because of the news about daily life in the newspaper.
