ABSTRACT ULTRASONIC TECHNIQUES AND EQUIPMENT FOR MATERIAL TESTING KOÇ, Ramazan M.S. in Eng. Physics Supervisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Refik KAYALI February 199E, 82 pages In this study, an ultrasonic transmitter-receiver probe is designed and developed. An ordinary microphone crystal is used in the construction of probes, and its frequency response is determined. Then various experimets are set up to investigate the propagation of sound waves in different mediums applying different methods. Some physical parameters of different materials are measured by using the developed probes. Finally experimental results have been compared with the theoretical results and it has been found that they were in a good agreement with each other.
