An archetypal extraordinary birth of the hero and his way in Manas Epic

This thesis is based on Manas epic variant by Sayakbay Karalaev. The purpose of the study is to determine the elements that make the birth of the hero extraordinary and the processes that the hero goes through. In the first part of the thesis, titled Extraordinary Birth Of The HeroAnd Synchronization, archetypical and synchronous signs that imply the hero's potential of becoming a hero beforehand were examined. Each of these signs was analyzed under a new title. In the second part of the thesis, titled Archetypal Processes Of The Hero And The Role Of The Supreme Person, archetypes and archetypal processes related to the evolution of the hero were analyzed. For example, archetyps like shadow, supreme individual, mother, getting name, arkechetypal places, objects, and foods were explained according to the flow of the text. While the archetypal processes / archetypes of the hero are examined, the paragraphs that will make up a separate title are distinguished by Roman numerals as there is no failure to the flow of the text. The role of the supreme person in the hero's human development was analyzed under the titles The Supreme Person Like A Mediator and The Supreme Person Like A Norm Character. Examples and excerpts in the text were translated from Kyrgyz language to Turkish. The thesis ended with the Conclusion and Bibliography section. In the study, generally archetypical method was employed. Also, an archetypical method by Ramazan Korkmaz which reveals that the hero deserves his name by passing through the archetypical steps and that he has had changes into his name in accordance with the changes in his personality and status was applied. According to the results obtained in the study, the Manas epic is not an event organized epic; that's why the hero is also not a Alp Type one because the hero is created and developed. During this development of hero, there has a big role of the supreme person. The hero reaches the perfect spiritual status Ayköllük, and high physical status like a leader/head of people thanks to this person. In this context, the hero is not as naturally perfect as the God itself as in archaic and epic works, because in Manas epic not God but man is discussed. The man can reach a certain spiritual and physical status by experiencing the archetypal processes and commuting between human weaknesses and virtues. In the Manas epic, the hero is the subject of his own choises; therefore, the hero is doomed to make mistakes as a man. Because of this, the hero Manas is a tragic hero. The hero's such adventures are as follows: Çoñ Cindi – Manas – Ayköl Manas. In addition to this, the hero is born as a priori hero. The boy's extraordinary birth and synchronous signs point out that the boy will be a hero. In this respect, the theory/ reality which seem opposite of but are actually complementary to each other about the fact that the boy will be a hero emerge; the birth of the hero as a hero and the creation of own self as a hero.
