Applicability of logotherapy in spiritual counselling and care

The purpose of this research is to contribute to the method and approachment problems of "Spiritual Counselling and Care" emerging in Turkey. In this way, "To what extent is the applicability of Logotherapy possible?" To find out if Logotherapy, which is a psychotherapy approach, is suitable in this area is aimed in order to find an answer to the question. Our study consists of three parts; in the first part, Spiritual Counseling and Care, was introduced with a general framework. At the same time, why Spiritual Counselling and Care is necessary and its aims are also stated. Especially being considered in the context of Turkey's Spiritual Counselling and Care, other definitions, including the definition of current professional primarily in the area of the functions and the methods applied are included. In the second part, the concepts and techniques of Logotherapy as an existential psychotherapy are explained and compared with other therapy approaches. Logotherapy, as a meaning-centered approach, supports individuals in determining their attitudes towards their pain. What happens in life is meaningful in all circumstances. It is up to the individual to find meaning in his life, even in painful moments. In the third -and last- chapter the relation of Logotherapy with religion and spirituality is given. At the same time, in the context of psychology of religion, it was evaluated, and Logotherapy was examined in the context of Spiritual Counselling and Care, which is the main subject of our study. There are a few scientific studies have been found in literature on Logotherapy practice in Turkey, especially Spiritual Counselling and Care as the newly formed area this treatment to investigate the applicability of the model reveals the importance of the study. First of all, it is a fact that such a study will bring a different perspective to both areas.
