Determination of the organizational commitments and organization trust levels of the nurses working in hospitals in manisa

Aim: The main aim of this study was to determine the organizational commitment and organizational trust levels of the nurses working in hospitals in Manisa. Material and Methods: This study was conducted as descriptive and cross-sectional. The population of the study consists of the management nurses working in public and private hospitals in Manisa city center. The sample of the study consisted of executive nurses who accepted to participate in the study (n = 86). Nurse Information Form, Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) and Organizational Trust Questionnaire (OTQ) were used as data collection tool. For analysing of the data; mean, standard deviation, scale mean scores were checked; Cronbach Alpha, Interquartile Range Student T Test, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, Spearman Correlation were applied. Findings: Most of the nurses working in the university hospital (40.7%), 98.8%are female, 76.7%married, 57.0% have bachelor's degree, 59.3% have managerial experience and 66, 3%of them are managers in clinics. The mean of the organizational commitment perception of the nurses was 3.32 ± 0.49 and of the organizational trust perception was 4.32 ± 0.83. A significant difference was found between organizational trust and the institution, education level and opportunities provided by the institution (p <0.05). The highest correlation between the sub-dimensions of organizational commitment and organizational trust was found between normative commitment and trust in the institution (r =, 605, p =, 000). Conclusion: The highest correlation was found between normative commitment and trust in the institution. Support programs for executive nurses should be planned in terms of institutional commitment and corporate trust.
