Özet (EN)
Objective: Our study aims to evaluate the knowledge of family physicians regarding chronic wounds. Materials and Methods: This research is a cross-sectional and descriptive study. A total of 200 physicians actively working in family medicine in Manisa province were included. Data were collected between 01.12.2023 and 01.06.2024. As data collection tools, a questionnaire consisting of 93 questions prepared by reviewing the literature and a sociodemographic form with 14 questions were used. Results: Of the participants included in the study, 77 (38.5%) were women, and 123 (61.5%) were men. Among the participants, 26 (13%) had received training on wound care, while 174 (87%) had not. When examining the effect of receiving chronic wound care training, those who received training answered an average of 72.53 ± 18.96 questions correctly, whereas those who did not receive training answered an average of 56.51 ± 19.68 questions correctly. Answers given in relation to wound care training were significantly in favor of those who had received training (p <0.001). Conclusion: In our study, it was determined that although not statistically significant, those who received specialty training answered more questions correctly. A significant relationship was found between receiving chronic wound care training and knowledge about chronic wounds. Keywords: Wound Healing, Family Physician, Education.
