Abstract (EN)
In our country, new higher quality materials have needed with the developments of railway tranportation. However the import cost of these materials play a major role to supply these ones in the local production. There are many studies for local production of head hardening rail. Rolling contact fatigue of rails is the biggest effect for damage. The cause of rail fractures depend on its microstructure, surface wear resistance and permanent deformation. For this reason, head hardening techniques are tested for obtain fine perlite microstructure with the high cooling rate. With the head hardening process technology can greatly improve the mechanical properties such as hardness, wear and fatigue values. After cooling, the results show that, R350 HT quality head hardened steel has lesser wear crack than R260 rail steel. In this project, we investigated the effect of different spraying parameters on microstructure and firstly fatigue behaviour and generel mechnanic proporties of rails.
