Abstract (EN)
The study was aimed to investigate the effectiveness of manual therapy on self-care behavior and activities of daily living in patients with chronic low back pain. In the study, people with chronic low back pain were randomly divided into two groups, and there were 24 people in each group. Individuals in the treatment group (female:13 men:11) were given 1 hour of manual therapy for 3 weeks, 2 days a week. In the control group (female:14 men:10) without any application; initial assessment and final assessment 8 weeks later were taken. Self-care behaviors of individuals; Self-Care Scale and activities of daily living; It was assessed with the Katz Activities of Daily Living Scale. Evaluations were made before and after the training program. As a result of the daily living activity evaluations of the treatment group, no difference was found between before and after treatment; It has been shown to be effective on self-care behaviors. When the daily living activity and self-care levels of the control group were examined before and after the treatment, no difference was found. Considering the difference in the initial and 3 weeks later evaluations of both groups; Manual techniques applied to the manual therapy group had a positive effect on activities of daily living. It has been shown that individuals with chronic low back pain will improve their self-care behaviors with 3-week manual therapy.
