Abstract (EN)
Os acromiale is a variation in the view of an accessory bone, which develops due to fusion defect in the ossification process of scapula. The aim of this study, was to determine the incidence in the society, sex distribution and anatomic region where fusion defect is most common seen of os acromiale, by using the method magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). For this purpose, shoulder morphology of individuals who had no history of trauma, operation and fracture and underwent shoulder MRI for any reason, who applied to the Health Research and Application Hospital of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University between 2010-2018 were assessed. The material of the study consisted of 864 shoulder graphics, 395 (45,2%) males and 469 (54,2%) females. Os acromiale was found in 54 of data and general prevalence in our society was determined as 6,25%. According to our evaluation, os acromiale was found in shoulder of 8 (2,02%) men and 46 (9,8%) women, and it was determined to be statistically significantly more frequently in women. As pre-acromion, meso-acromion and meta-acromion species were evaluated in os acromiale cases and compared in terms of genders, 42 meso-acromion (36 female, 6 male) were observed, 10 pre-acromion (all females), 2 meta-acromion (all males) were detected. As a result, 54 of the 864 shoulder MRIs were found to be os acromiale and the prevalence was measured as 6.25%. In females, it was seen more frequently than males and meso-acromion type of os acromiale was found significantly more frequent (77.7%) than other types.
