Abstract (EN)

A large portion of the population in Turkey lives within the boundaries of local governments. This situation highlights the necessity for local governments to play a role as important as that of the central government in meeting energy needs, ensuring energy efficiency, and designing sustainable cities. Water and sewerage administrations affiliated to local governments have a strategic importance in energy management due to their wide service areas and high energy costs. Within the scope of this study, a model has been developed for Mardin Water and Sewerage Administration (MARSU) aiming to provide electrical energy with a solar power plant (SPP). Within the scope of the study, the system design of the SPP was carried out with the PVSyst software; the production potential was simulated and the feasibility of the investment was analyzed with different payment methods. With the implementation of the model, it is aimed to reduce energy costs and provide a sustainable and renewable energy source. In addition, this project will contribute to the strengthening of the regional electricity infrastructure and supply security by encouraging the use of local and renewable energy. The study results demonstrate that the proposed model is technically and financially feasible.
