Özet (EN)

Although pottery has a deep-rooted history in Anatolia, it has survived to the present day by developing the unique characteristics of each civilization. Mankind's food storage, cooking, etc. production, which started to meet the needs of the people, is one of our oldest cultural heritages that has survived to the present day with the master-apprentice relationship, which has become a trade made for commercial purposes over time. This study aims to identify the pottery centers in the Marmara Region, to document the raw materials used in production, production processes, and information about their current status. In addition, a sample was formed by considering the cultural and socio-economic studies carried out for the revival of pottery in some production centers. Field studies were carried out by contacting the relevant people in the pottery centers determined as a result of the literature review conducted within the scope of the thesis study. As a result of the field research, it was determined that pottery was produced in 13 centers and production was made in 7 of these centers. All the stages obtained in this research were documented and presented in this study. As a result of the research covering the pottery centers in the Marmara Region, it has been determined that the production in some production centers has ended due to the increase in migration from the village to the city, the expansion of mass production areas, and many reasons. It has been observed that the ongoing production centers have started to gain popularity due to the increase in interest in nature in recent years, but it has been determined that these centers are in danger of extinction as employment cannot be provided.
