Economic study of vehicle transport in the sea of marmara and alternative concept ship design

The scope of this master thesis is to share general information about maritime transportation and to make analyzes about Ro-Ro ships operating on a line selected in the Sea of Marmara. Alternative concept design proposals can be made in accordance with the results obtained from the analysis. In the second part of this study some statistics are shared by mentioning maritime transport. In the third part, economic analyses have been carried out for a route line from the Sea of Marmara by considering three different categories and mentioned ships are investigated in the scope of unit passenger transportation costs. In the fourth part, information on concept ship design which could be an alternative for improving the results obtained, is given. In the fifth and final section, the analysis and alternative design are evaluated together and the result suggestions are shared.
