Abstract (EN)
While Marshall Plan has served for the restructuring of the international economy and politics after the Second World War, a large propaganda campaign has also been executed within the Plan in order to channel attitudes and mentalities of the Europeans in the direction of American ideals. One of the most effective media of the Marshall Plan propaganda which has been used for this purpose was films that have been produced and screened within the Plan. These films whose exhibition in the USA had been forbidden until 1990s and who have been forgotten in the archives in other countries after the Plan, have been brought to light by the international tour ?Selling Democracy? at 2004. However, they have not been examined at an adequate level so far. Moreover, a research on this subject peculiar to Turkey has never been studied. The subject of this thesis is to make a research of Marshall Plan films which have been produced specifically for Turkish audiences and the others which have been produced for international exhibition and screened also in Turkey.Key Words:1. Marshall Plan2. Second World War3. Turkey4. Cinema5. Propaganda
