Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to identify the carrying potential of the most important bacteriocin genes of the strains of Enterococcus faecium obtained from mastitic bovine milk; enterocin A, enterocin B and enterorcin P, using a polymerase chain reaction (PZR). The working materials consisted of milk samples taken from 620 cattle infected with mastitis. Enterococci insulation was achieved using classic methods in selective broth. Molecular methods were used in order to conduct the identification of genus and species as well as the presence of enterocin structural genes. As a result of the research, 96 enterococci susceptible strains were obtained. Of these it was possible to acertain that of the isolates produced by PZR using a specific primer couple used to find E. faecium strains, 13.5% were E. faecium.Isolates of bacteriocin structural genes entA and entB were identified at 30.8%, the entP gene was identified at 7.7%. When the findngs are evalutaed from the prospective of bacteriocin structural gene combinations, two gene combinations can be identified: Of these, the first is the combination of the entA+entB genes, found at the proportion of 23.0%, the second is the combination of the entA+entB+entP genes found at the proportion of 7.7%. As a result, this study found that the strains of E. faecium istolated from mastitic bovine milk have a high pathogenicity potential, that these strains have the potential to pass from livestock and infect humans and create the potential to cause infection. It is believed that in order for the distribution of these genes in other enterococci isolated from mastitic bovine milk to be found and for the industrial potential of these bacteriocins to be utilised more research must be done within this area.
