Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to investigate the developments in mathematics teaching with artistic activities on mathematical achievement and attitudes towards art. The study group of the research consists of 5th grade students studying at a public school in Genç district of Bingöl province in the 2023-2024 academic year. There are two groups in the research: experimental and control groups. The study group of the research consists of a total of 55 students, 27 students in the control group and 28 students in the experimental group. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test control group in order to examine the changes in students' mathematical achievement and attitudes towards art. towards art after the experiment. However, no relationship was found between control group students' mathematics achievement and their attitudes towards art. In order to collect data in the study, the "Mathematics Achievement Test", which was prepared by the Ministry of National Education and the "Attitude Towards Art Scale" developed by Dede (2016), was used. Data analyses of the study were carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, parametric dependent/independent sample t-tests and Pearson correlation analysis. In the study, it was investigated whether there was a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test achievement and attitude of the experimental and control groups through data analysis. According to the findings obtained as a result of the data analysis of the study; a positive increase was found in the mathematical achievement and attitude towards art of the experimental group compared to the mathematical achievement and attitude towards art of the control group. As a result of the Pearson correlation analysis, a positive relationship was found between the mathematical achievement and attitude towards art of the experimental group students after the experiment, but no relationship was found between the mathematical achievement and attitude towards art of the control group students. In addition, similar studies and various suggestions were included according to the results of the study.
