Examining the views of academicians and teachers on the factors affecting the application process of mathematical activities

In this thesis, it is aimed to determine how the factors affecting the application process of mathematical activities are perceived by teachers and academicians and their views on the application. In this study, the data of a project supported by TUBITAK (Project no: 119K773) was used. As a data collection tool, online and face-to-face workshops were held with open-ended questions about the activity topic and practices in the project for teachers and academics. The data were subjected to content analysis. In line with the answers given by the participants, codes and categories were created for each question. The analyzes show that teachers and academicians have various perspectives on the implementation of the activity and that the answers differ from place to place. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was seen that the problems stated by the teachers and academicians in the activity implementation partially matched, and the parts that did not match were seen in the pre-activity parts and generally due to the teacher. In addition, it has been determined that most of the problems expressed by the teachers are student-related, and it is remarkable that the solution suggestions of the teachers focus on the activities and teacher roles. In the activity evaluation part, it was seen that the teachers did not focus on it, but the academicians expressed quite a lot of problems and suggestions on this subject.
