Mushkil al-Quran in Maturidi's Tevilat

The Mushkil al-Quran in which difficulties in understanding Quran and the mistakes about its interpretation is the main subject of our work. Reasons of those mistakes have been examined so that it has been tried to confirm to understand Koran properly. Ebu Mansur el- Maturidi's approach who is known for executing a balanced approach between mind and revelation has been tried to examined by the help of his work Tevilat. Furthermore, The solution ways of those misunderstanding called İşkâl has been determined by examining the related samples. Also, Maturidi's contextualisaiton of the previous works, debates in his age, and his impacts on successor glossators have been examined. In this way, it has been tried to gain strong methods on Müşkil Quran, growing in importance, in our age. For this work, Maturidi has been chosen and the study has been done around that. He is the first person who reveals the difference of interpretation – Tevil and exemplify the kind of sagacity interpretation. In this selection, the effective criteria have been his being the founder of a kalam ecole which is called by his name and being an important member of Hanafi method. However, not by comparison, some comparisons have been done to define the place of writer in the process with his predecessors Mukâtil b. Suleyman, Ferra, Zeccâc and Taberi; and with his successors Kadi Abdulcebbâr, Zemahsheri, Razi, Nesefi. In this work, all the analyses on versicle that Maturidi defined as adversity in his Tevilat have been examined and classsified according to their subjects. Analyses on his interpretation have been compared with the comments of the predecessor and successor glossators. Thus, Maturidi's evaluation on previous accumulation and contribution has been exhibited. Result of this study has been quite effective on the idea of glossator depending on sect, their presupposition, the determination of one ayat's inconvenient or not if it is so, how this İşkâl will be eliminated. Maturidi thinks that tendency is the first and foremost reason of İşkâl. According to him, the most consistent and safe way to understand Quran and analysing the İşkâl is to benefit from the Quran' s own explanatoriness. In addition, meaning association in first Koran payers, usage of Arabic language and context of ayats are important. Maturidi made the necessary statements by dealing with the belief groups except Islam on this subject. He determined some principles to ddetect the real meaning and he sticked to these principles himself. Although, he is neglected, his solutions on İşkâl has been used in many glossators' works and affected them.
