Measurement of electromagnetic radiation levels of some cellular base station in Gaziantep

Nowadays increasing of environmental and noise pollution are seen clearly and as well as electromagnetic pollution increase too. And everyday different type of base stations like GSM900, GSM1800 and GSM2100 are established in school gardens, on the apartment roofs and parks. The fear amoung the people of electromagnetic radiation increase day by day and it cannot be avoided. For this reason exposure level of each base station have to determined and public, who living in estaplishment of base station , have to be raise awareness. The measurements have been performed using SPECRAN HF 60105 Spectrometer and Hyper Log 60100 directional antenna electromagnetic measurement device. The measured values were compared with the value of reference levels for general public limits of ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection). Whereas ICNIRP limit value of power density is 4.5 W/m^2 for GSM900, the measured maximum value was found 0.04541W/m^2.
