Mecmû'a-i İrfan Pasha

This study includes the textual analysis and the transcription of `Mecmu`a-i İrfan Pasha? the only work of Irfan Pasha who is one of the Ottoman statesmen lived in 19th century. The 19th century of the Ottoman Empire is a period of great changes with respect to the society, politics and culture. The absence of a principled study on Irfan Pasha and his work lead us to work on this topic.We have obtained one published copy of the work we deal with from the Nation?s Library. In our searches, we have not come across any manuscript of the work other than the published copy that we have. Our study is based on ?the period-the personality-the work axis. We have tried to review the life of Irfan Pasha as a statesman, his literary views and his work `Mecmu`a-i İrfan Pasha?. We have focused on the poems with respect to the form and the content. Besides his poems, we have re-written his letters to the other statesmen of the era with the transcription alphabet. The facsimile of the work is added to the end of our study.
