Analysis of civilization concept in accordance with the perceptions of students of the faculty of education

The aim of the study was to determine the perceptions of the students of the Faculty of Education about the concepts of civilization. For this purpose, screening model was preferred in the research. The universe of the research consists of undergraduate students studying at Inonu and Ataturk Universities Education Faculties. The sample of the study consists of 500 students who were selected from the undergraduate students in the faculties of education in İnönü and Atatürk Universities by using the simple random sampling method.Civilization Concept Perception Scale developed by the researcher was used to collect the research data. In order to analyze the data collected in the study, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation values of the scale items were calculated. In addition, in order to analyze the research data, Independent Samples t-Test was used in terms of gender variable and One-way ANOVA was used in terms of department and class variables studied.As a result of the research, it was found that the perceptions of the students of the Faculty of Education about the concept of civilization were high and were similar. In addition, in the study, a statistically significant difference was found between the perceptions of the students of the faculty of education on the concept of civilization in Scope and Universal dimensions according to gender variable; It was found that there is no statistically significant difference in its historical dimension. Significant differences were found between the perceptions of the students in the faculty of education according to the gender variable. As a result of the study, it was determined that there were significant differences in terms of class and department variables. Key Words: Civilization, Faculty of Education, Student.
