Abstract (EN)

Society which does not build a city, doesn't build a civilization. It is not possible to think of it's dream. Actually, city is the pilot practice of the civilization. City building is the preparation of the civilization. City is the sub- units of civilization. All of these units form the civilization. In this situation, before forming the civilization idea, city idea must be formed. A person who does not have any idea about the city, cannot give an idea about civilization. In this research, civilization, city and urban transformation are studied. Firstly, there is the definition of the city. Also, there is the information about short story of the city, definitions of the city, economy and regime of the city. Later, the relationship between city and the culture is assessed. In this context, humans are effective for city building. Architectural, which is related to the civilization, is covered. The effect of the place, the role in social relationship are also covered.ın addition. In the Islam City, which is the backbone of our civilization, functions of the places are evaluated. Finally, in this study urban transformation is defined with it's short history. Urban transformation is dealed with it's economical and social concepts. In addition, during the application of project of urban transformation, it emphasizes that city relation and humanity are taken into consideration. All of this study are evaluated in our perception of civilization. Key Words: Civilization, City, Architecture, Urban Transformation
