Abstract (EN)
This research has been planned and applied to determine the effects of media on women. Theresearch has been actualized on 500 women whose socio- economical levels are different and who livein the central administrative district of Çorum. Questionnaire form has been used as a means of datacollection. The datas obtained by questionnaire forms have been scheduled, the demograghic datas ofwomen?s percentage and frequency have been taken and the differences among the ideas about mediasubjects have been controlled by the khi-square tests. The meaningfulness level in the research hasbeen accepted as 0.5.The age average of the women who have been joined to the research has been 35.69±0.40 andtheir income has been X= 472YTL ± 28.41. It has been seen that most of the women have boughtnewspapers but not magazines. Also, it has been seen that most of them hasn?t used Internet.It has been determined that most of the women who has joined the research has been mostlyaffected by the media, mostly the television and at least by magazines. It has been determined thatwomen have more than one television in their houses and that they watch television at an average of 3-4 hours in a day.It has been determined that nearly half of the women has agreed media is to provide comingtogether as a family and to hinder the conversation of the individuals in their family.While the womendon?t agree in the ideas such as ?My confidence towards my husband is decreasing? or ?I pay lessattention to my husband? , it has been seen that nearly half of the women are agree in the ideas such as?I try not to discuss with my husband beyond our children? .Also women has declared that mediahasn?t such a negative effect on their relation with other people. It has been seen that women are agreewith the ideas such as ?I care for the physical and spiritual development of my child.? and ? I giveimportance to the education of my child.? Also, most of the women has declared that they watch theprogrammes about health more carefully and that they use them in their daily life.Women should be more conscious while benefiting from media,especially from television.Women should be provided reading newspapers and magazines, using the internet and getting morebenefits which those things elicit. In order to provide women being affected positively from media, thegovernment has important missions.
