Abstract (EN)
Understanding and analyzing social change has always been a fundamental concern of the social sciences. As social structures and institutions change, so do the individuals and groups that makeup society. The changing individuals and groups pave the way for social change, and this cyclical process of mutual interaction continues forever. The factors that have influenced social and individual change have always been a subject of interest, curiosity, and research. The impact of communication tools on social and individual change has been a widely studied topic in media studies. This study examines the relationship between new media and social and individual change through the theory of mediatization which introduces a recent approach to understanding the relations between media and social change. In other words, it analyzes the mediatization of society and the individual in the age of social media.
