London and Paris embassies were among those assignments. Mehmed Nuri Efendi performed his duties as ambassador to England and France, two major powers of Europe, at a time when the Ottoman State lost its power and needed the support of other governments to continue its existence. Mehmed Nuri Efendi, two was the ambassador of London from 1834 to 1836, spent most of his time for the renewal of customs tariffs.
