Abstract (EN)

Children?s literature is an area to teach children?s feelings, thoughts and experiences.Mehmet Seyda was among these writers. Winning the first prize in the competition of `Doğan Kardeş Çocuk Romanı ( Rising Sibling Children Novel)? in 1966, Seyda composed many pieces in many genres of children?s literature until his death in1986. Especially after his retirement in 1965, the last eleven years of his life, he lived his most fertile period in children?s literature.In this thesis, the children and education topic of Mehmet Seyda?s (Çeliker) children novels are studied. Seyda?s life and from his studied children novels, the children and education comprehension are presented. The writer?s `children and education? topic is associated with the approaches in philosophy.Mehmet Seyda would like children to be seen as individuals. He stood up for talking to children about the facts of life without concealing anything. He especially wanted the facts related to the children themselves to be explained to them. Furthermore he wanted the children to be told that the childhood is impossible to regain so it?s very special and he stood up for the proper child education. According to him, the family ought to behave conscious and careful in training children before school .
