Examination of the concept of spatial organization and form by Historical peninsula

The key words of this study are the concepts of ?location?, ?locational organization? and ?form?. Within the totality of the study, the concepts of ?locality?, ?locational organization? and ?form? are defined through the perspective of urban planning in conceptual and theroetical terms. In order to build upon the locational system and exemplify the theoretical and conceptual basis that is derived from the study, Historical Peninsula is selected as the sample area due to its locational richness and historical experience alongisde its alteration and transformation. Hence, the conceptual and theoretical basis that is derived from the study can be embedded into the locational system and exemplified. The Historical Peninsula not only hosts samples of conceptual and theoretical definitons belonging to the ?location?, ?locational organization? and ?form? concepts in the third dimension but also enables the consideration of urban location in the fourth dimension (time) with all the historical and cultural values it possesses. The purpose of this study, which is put together by scanning various local and foreign sources about ?location?, ?locational organization? and ?form? and in conceptual and theoretical terms ?due to the Historical Peninsula example-, is to set an initial source for further studies that will focus on the subject of ?locational organization and form? which not only has various expansions but also needs to be taken into consideration in a larger perspective. Urban designing science area is selected as a tool for any intervention throughout the Historical Peninsula within the scope of the study. The evaluation showed that any kind of intervention, when considered in terms of urban design?s theoretical approach in a large perspective ranging from the lowest scale to upper scale, to an area will effect the whole area regardless of scale and kind of intervention.
