Social pressure in Makki surahs

The Quran which was sent to lead humans on the right path was mostly sent when muslims were living in Makka under great social and economical pressure. Hence there is a different between the verses that were sent during the Makka era and Madina era. In the Makka era verses are short and about faith and morality. In the era of Madina the verses are mostly about praying, Islamic law and etc. The lifes of the previous prophets and their non-believers society and the struggle between them often recited in Makki verses. In that way muslims living in Makka learn how to struggle against the infields and also couraged by the verses with the information of victory. There are many materials in the verses of Makka era about social pressure. It is possible to trace sociological psyhcological and economical pressure through the terms that are used in the verses. "Mele", "mütref", "müstekbir" and "mustazaf" are the most common terms used in Quran on the topic of social pressure. It is possible to say mele refers to the high society, mütref referst to group of people who has ecnomical power. This thesis aims to investigate and examine these kind of terms which are mentioned in the Makki verses.
