Abstract (EN)
In this study, the transcript and evaluation of the Mektep Müzesi magazine published between 14 May 1913 (1 May 1329) and 14 March 1914 (1 March 1330) were included. The Ottoman Empire began its publication life with the newspaper Vakʻa-i Mısriyye (1828), which was published in Cairo. During the 85 years up to the Mektep Müzesi, many magazines and newspapers have been published in different periods with varying number of pages. Media sources such as magazines and newspapers are the primary resources to research, investigate and evaluate the culture of their own era. Traces of intellectual changes that occur especially in transition periods reveal in these channels. For this reason, these sources have been translated into contemporary Turkish by researchers and studies have been made on them. Mektep Müzesi, took place in a very important date range that is the last period of the Constitutional Monarchy and just before the First World War. It has been published as twelve issues with fifteen day periods. It was published by Ahmet Edip and included the famous names of that era such as Halide Edip and Nakiye Elgün in their pages. The magazine has stood out of politics, included scientific topics, gave news about the studies and developments in the West, handled issues intended for women and aimed to be a magazine appealing to everyone in general. Our aim in this study is to inform the existence of such a magazine, to introduce it, to make more use of it by translating it into Latin and to present the information we have obtained about it.
